laks3

Salmon is a great source of omega-3.

Here’s how to make this superfood taste great in no time!

Quick & easy Teriyaki Salmon (for 2 people)

What you need:

  • 300 gram of salmon filet
  • Teriyaki spices (I buy teriyaki mix in a bag from the supermarket)
  • 200 grams of spinach (or any other vegetables you like: broccoli, peppers and carrots etc.)
  • 50 grams of rice noodles (optional, I eat this every now and then when I feel like having a little extra carbs)

How you do it:

  1. Boil salted water.
  2. Put the teriyaki spice on a plate and turn the salmon filets in it until the filets are covered.
  3. Place the salmon in a pan with butter on medium heat. Cook on 2-3 minutes on each side (depends on the thickness of the salmon). Put aside to rest.
  4. Put spinach in a pan on medium heat. Fry (sauté) for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Put the noodles in the water until done (2-3 minutes)
  6. Mix spinach and noodles and place the salmon on the side – done!

One question, could you use a mustard sauce, since it works well with salmon? Im just asking, because I feel the dish can become a little dry, even though you complements it with spinach and noodles.

4 tablespoons mustard, DIjon is a must.
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    A sqeeze of lemon juice
1 scallion, chopped reeaaaallly fine ( or just a mild onion)
    1 tablespoon chopped parsley
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, but who doesnt like a booom)
some Sea salt Freshly ground pepper (optional)

This is a good Salmon recipe because I like Japanese food and salmon. I wonder if it is okay to make teriyaki sauce recipe if teriyaki spice is not available in the local grocery? Is there a substitute for the teriyaki spice? Salmon is good since it provides omega 3 that I need.

      Lynne,

Thanks for your question. I’d recommend looking for teriyaki spice as the teriyaki spices I know about are loaded with sugar.

However, you might want to check in the stores in your area; perhaps you’ll find a sauce without loads of sugar. It’s worth a try but personally I use spice :)
